ICON WOMEN'S RETREAT
Join women from around the diocese on Saturday, October 20th through Sunday, October 21st at Ky Dam Village State Resort Park for a retreat unlike any other. This retreat dives into, unpacks and processes the topics of prayer, who we are as women made in God's image ("icon") and our mission to love. We are all created to be in communion, in personal relationship with God. Each of us is created as a unique, unrepeatable man or woman with a vocation to love like God. We will pose the questions; "What does it mean to be human? What does it mean to be a man, a woman? What does it mean to love like God?"
This Mass recognizes the ministry of those across our diocese who protect life and care for the ill and dying, such as physicians, nurses, compassionate care ministers, ministers of consolation, chaplains, mental health workers and al in the medical profession.

Every December 29th to January 1st, current 8th graders and high schoolers are invited to attend Christmas/New Year's Camp. It's a great way for 8th graders to meet kids they'll be going to Camp Life with next summer, and for High School Campers to reconnect with old friends. This camp is much more laid back than summer camp; campers still do all the activities, celebrate the Sacraments, and have Adoration, but with a more relaxed atmosphere.
The Diocesan Gospel of Life Committee has under consideration an adults only (no minors) trip to the 2019 March for Life in Washington DC. The 2019 March will occur on Friday, January 18, 2019. Travel would be by bus, leaving from the rear parking lot of St. Stephen Cathedral Church at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 and returning on either the late evening of January 19, or early morning hours of January 20, 2019. The group would spend two nights (January 17 and 18, 2019) at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown Hotel. (The 2018 room rate was $230.75 per night and may likely increase for 2019. Rooms can accommodate up to four persons so as to split the individual’s cost of staying for two nights.) The estimated cost to attend this event is $395 per person, based on two to three people sharing each room cost. The Committee welcomes your interest in joining this group. To preregister, please complete an information sheet (Available on the bookcase in the Gathering Space) and mail it to Richard Murphy, 600 Locust St., Owensboro, KY, 42301, along with a $50 preregistration fee by September 14, 2018. Note: There is a 40 person minimum threshold for those going on this trip. If this threshold is not reached, the trip will not go forward, and those that have preregistered will receive their $50 deposit back.
